I bought this domain a few years ago after a few drinks and a conversation on niche porn websites. I decided a portion of it should be made as my own personal documentation for projects as I do them. While it would be nice, I have no visions of tons of traffic or making money on SPL.

I do have plans on making the actual sexy part of Sexy Parkas but there are a number of conceptual and legal questions I have yet to answer before it gets off the ground.

In the meantime, this is my first real attempt at a website before. I did take a class on HTML once but that was back when Windows 98 was still a big deal. I’ve gone with WordPress as the main structure of SPL. The main deciding factor was that I’ve used it before and it has a very large support community. WordPress recommended Bluehost as a host service and from what little I’ve had to use of it, the customer service is excellent. The web UI is a little confusing but I think my biggest gripe is that when purchasing the service, there was no confirmation page telling me how much my card would be billed until after I confirmed the purchase. So it was a little surprising and annoying to see that I purchased 3 years of hosting in one lump sum. They get a 7 on the 0-9 scale from me so far.

I’ll probably be changing the general layout of the site on an infrequent basis until I’m completely happy with the way it looks. I’m not 100% comfortable using a canned theme that I didn’t make but that’s just my nature.
